Our first loaner jackets are being delivered to their new summer home this afternoon (May 27th).  We are so very excited that Harmony Village Mobile Park has opted to provide life jackets to the individuals to that utilize their community pool, especially since the park does not provide a life guard.

Thank you  Harmony Village!

Mackenzie’s Mission to Host First Annual Old Town Bar Crawl

FORT COLLINS, CO – Mackenzie’s Mission is officially announcing their first annual “Keni’s Par 1 Bar Crawl Fundraiser” to take place in Old Town, Fort Collins. On Saturday, August 29th 2015, Mackenzie’s Mission will be partnering with nine local bar sponsors for an afternoon of miniature golf and costume contests.

After the event there will be an awards ceremony upstairs at Illegal Pete’s. Bonus points will be awarded to any team that donates or wears US Coast Guard approved life jackets during the event.

Participants must be 21 years of age or older and have an arrangement for safely leaving the event.

Registration for teams of four can be found online at macksmission.org/fundraisers.htm and costs $150.00 per team. The deadline is August 22nd. People looking to volunteer can also find the link to do so at macksmission.org/fundraisers.htm.

Proceeds from the fundraiser will go to benefit Mackenzie’s Mission in their efforts to combat childhood drowning and promote safe water habits. The organization reaches out to schools, lifeguards, pools, and businesses in the community to promote water safety throughout the community. Specifically, the organization hopes to use money from the Bar Crawl start and promote a life jacket loaner program at local lake and river spots to insure that all children have access to fitting, Coast Guard approved life jackets. This program hopes to encourage the use of life jackets while boating, fishing, and swimming by providing free resources to the community in key areas, such as Horsetooth Reservoir.

Bars that will be participating in the event include: Bondi Beach; The Lodge; Old Town Distilling Company; Blind Pig; Pateros Creek; The Whiskey; Illegal Pete’s; and CopperMuse Distillery.  Keni’s Par 1 Bar Crawl is brought to you by Horizon Mechanical Solutions.

Mackenzie’s Mission is a local 501(c)3 based in Larimer County, CO that aims to prevent childhood drowning through education and awareness. For more information about Mackenzie’s Mission, please go to macksmission.org or follow us on Facebook and Twitter at /macksmission.
